Crisis Management

Crisis Management

Are you really prepared?

In a perfect world, an aviation organization would not have to worry about crisis management. Unfortunately, the world is not perfect, and, inevitably, things go wrong. Some events may have minor consequences, such as passenger inconvenience, while other events may involve a fatal accident, which will have a much more greater impact on the organization and its reputation. Either way, your aviation organization must be prepared for foreseeable, and unforeseeable, events that may occur at any time.

An Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is a required element of your Safety Management System. Your organization must have a Crisis Management Plan in place. Yet, many organizations do not properly plan for incident and accident responses and are caught off guard when they do occur. The result can be chaotic. However, with a proper Crisis Management Plan in place, your organization will be well-prepared to deal with the intricacies of the events that will quickly unfold.
